Mercedes-Benz B-Class 2012 spy shots

mercedes-benz-b-class-spy-photo-rear-three-quarter

Mercedes-Benz is busy testing the front-wheel-drive unsportingly-tall hatchback in Dubai and around the UAE, but they’ve also released teaser photos of the car that will debut in September at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. We also dug up a photo of the real car from the internet, likely caught during a photo-shoot.

2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Review

2012 mercedes benz cls63 amg front view 2012 Mercedes Benz CLS63 AMG

The CLS is the car that spawned the generation of four- and five-door "coupes" on the road today. The Volkswagen CC, Aston Martin Rapide and even the Hyundai Sonata all owe a debt of gratitude to that four-wheeled elongated arch. But while the 2006 original was little more than a prettified version of the E-Class sedan, the all-new version has come to conquer more than the valet line at the country club.
In profile, the new CLS remains true to form, but now its surface is cut with deep character lines and bulges with MB’s signature “Ponton” rear fenders. It also has a meaner, chiseled face with multi-layered LED headlamps that say “outta my way” when they fill up the rearview mirrors of the cars in front of it. Imagine what Chris Hemsworth would look like leaving the gym in a tailored suit.
The 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG is powered by a twin-turbo V-8 that puts out up to 550 horsepower.

The cabin has a less aggressive, more elegant appearance. It features the same, supposedly aircraft-inspired imagery that’s also found in the SLS supercar and is trimmed in stitched leather, lots of shiny metal and, in the case of my test vehicle, carbon fiber – the latter for a mere $2,835 extra. It’s such a far cry from the interior of the latest E-Class that you can’t help but think that they sandbagged that one to make the CLS look that much better.
Rendered in flat black paint, the new Mercedes-Benz CLS AMG looks more menacing than a Predator missile.

Brabus Debuts 231-mph 800 E V12 Cabriolet

Brabus continues its endless campaign to squeeze V12s into any Mercedes-Benzes its engineers can find with this latest model, based on an E-class cabriolet. It leads us to wonder about just one thing: what does top-down driving feel like at 231 mph? Anyone willing to fork over 478,000 euros (about $680,000) will have the pleasure of being able to find out with the 800E V12 Cabriolet, which is capable of just that. Just as impressive, this is a four-seat convertible capable of 0-62 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class Details, Images

The B-Class is priming itself not only for a completely revised model debut at Frankfurt this September, but also, possibly, for its first sales in the U.S. As something of a pint-sized hatchback in American eyes, it will be interesting to see how buyers perceive its unusual mix of features.

Having already consulted with U.S. Mercedes-Benz buyers on the new B-Class, Mercedes-Benz appears to be optimistic from the data gleaned thus far. And given the slate of features and specs unveiled today, it may have good reason to be.
2012 Mercedes-Benz B-Class
For instance, the B-Class will offer two turbocharged gasoline engines and one diesel, in Europe, at least, along with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The high-tech draw of the dual clutch alone, especially a fully modern seven-speed unit, sets the B-Class apart from not only the rest of the hatchback spectrum, but ahead of most of the luxury segment as well.

Of the two gasoline engines, only the 2.0-liter 156-horsepower version is likely to see U.S. sale. The 1.6-liter engine is sure to be even more efficient, but at 122 horsepower, won't likely meet the expectations of American luxury buyers. Both engines are based on Mercedes new M270 line of engines, which use direct injection and turbocharging to maximize torque and efficiency. They can be mounted either longitudinally or transversely.

Taking a cue from those F1- and WRC-themed vacation experiences, AMG has come out with its own “Emotion Tours” program, which is a tour designed to immerse enthusiasts in the AMG experience. Events include AMG factory visits, drives of AMG racers, such as the SLS AMG GT3 or simply experiencing guided drives of the Mercedes tuner’s products.

Lifestyle tours take attendees through Montreux while partaking in the famous Garden Party and Jazz Festival on lake Geneva, or swing on a golf tour where AMG enthusiasts can practice their skills on a 9-hole course in Munich. Motorsport-inclined fans have a choice of going to the DTM tour, where they will be guests in a DTM event. Those with money to burn will have the option to go for the Masters SLS AMG experience, which gets you extensive tutoring and track time in fully learning how to pilot an SLS AMG GT3 racer against other enthusiasts on the track.

Mercedes CLS is actually one of the most anticipated models of the company and it’s so popular mainly because of its radical shape. CLS was the first car in the world which introduced coupe-shape sedan styling, and while many other companies have copied its style, none of them were nowhere near as good as the Merc.

For the next generation, there is no doubt that the actual shape will remain the same. That curvy roof and pillarless doors are parts of its unique character. But the car will have different detailing. Some say to keep it on trend as other Mercedes models, the 2011 CLS will look quit like the new E-class. CLS is literally an E-class underneath, and the new models might inherit some of its styling cues as well, like the shape of head and tail lights.

The new E-Class Coupé offers a very special combination of two attributes for which the Mercedes brand is well known: fascination and efficiency. With its classic coupé side aspect – no B-pillars and fully retractable side windows – this new two-door car is a particularly sporty interpretation of the E-Class’s dynamic design.

At the same time the most aerodynamic variant of these coupés achieves a new world best in terms of drag coefficient: with a Cd-figure of just 0.24, this model is the world’s most aerodynamically efficient series-production car.

The model programme includes two new 4-cylinder engines, which consume up to 17% less fuel whilst offering a significant increase in performance and torque.

The new E-Class Coupé’s standard-fit AGILITY CONTROL suspension adjusts automatically to the current driving situation. It combines driving enjoyment and excellent handling with maximum comfort.

The new E-Class Coupé will be in the showrooms of the European Mercedes-Benz dealerships and company-owned sales outlets at the beginning of May 2009.

The new Coupé offers all the technical innovations of the new E-Class series, features which customers expect to find in a sports-oriented luxury coupé. These include selective damper control, drowsiness detection, preventive occupant protection and an Active Bonnet.

As a feature specific to the Coupé, the Dynamic Driving package allows different suspension setups at the touch of a button.

Adaptive Main Beam Assist, road sign recognition and an automatic emergency braking system are other features with which the new series sets standards in this vehicle category.

The E-Class also takes on a pioneering role in the drive sector.

The new diesels and direct-injection petrol engines combine efficiency with an effortless power delivery.

The engine line-up includes two new four-cylinder models which deliver significantly more power and torque while consuming up to 17 percent less fuel.

Like all Carlsson products, the car has a pure sense of exclusivity and luxury. We think it’s the grille inserts made out of electro polished stainless steel which they put on every single one of their cars. They replace the stock plastic grilles.

The SLK also gets a front apron, the front spoiler lip RS which can be ordered in carbon fiber, Carlsson horse badge, new rear apron with a diffusor, a tail spoiler, and new sport mufflers that look and sound very nice.

The Mercedes-Benz SLK350 offers a choice of Black, Sahara Beige or Ash sun-reflecting leather as well as Black and Bengal Red Premium sun-reflecting leather which noticeably reduces heat build-up. The leather has a special coating which reflects the sun’s rays and measurements have shown that this reduces the temperature of the seats by more than 18 degrees Fahrenheit – a significant improvement in comfort when the car has been parked in the sun.
